Caldwell Vineyard

Showcase House

Inspired by the Bay Area’s nautical history and Caldwell Vineyard's tranquil pastoral setting, we transformed the property’s 1920s cheese barn into a cozy mariner’s retreat for the Traditional Home Napa Valley Showhouse. Drawing from imagery of a ship’s wooden hull, we intentionally left the ceiling rafters exposed, celebrating them as a central part of the design. The prominent rafters also brought the ceiling height down, cultivating an immediate sense of intimacy within the space. To balance the rich wood elements of the room, we introduced a coastal palette of navy, charcoal, and sand. Finally, we layered the space with maritime antiques and lush textiles to create a complex and personal experience. As an interior designer on this project with SMW Design, I collaborated on all aspects of design, from developing concept boards, drafting spaces plans, creating hand renderings, sourcing products, conducting field verifications, and managing installation.
