GAP

Corporate Headquarters

When GAP looked to redefine its post-pandemic workplace, they came to Gensler and One Workplace to help shape their Future of Work Design Initiative. Tasked with consolidating three distinct brands (GAP, Old Navy, and Banana Republic) spread across multiple Bay Area locations into one building at 2 Folsom, we ran a collaborative series of design sessions and workshops in order to develop a design aesthetic that spoke to both their united identity as part of the larger organization but one that also held space for each entity’s individual character and personality. With the client gravitating towards a decidedly neutral color scheme, we aimed to create depth and interest through materiality and subtle palette shifts from floor to floor. Ultimately, the client’s modern-classic sensibilities shown through in furniture and finish selections. My role as One Workplace's design lead for this project was to guide the client through the entire design process, and carefully develop and actualize their unique vision of the future. To bring this project to fruition, we collaborated with virtual and in-person engagements to craft a distinct kit-of-parts solution that met their ideal aesthetics, needs, timeline, and price point.
